In Genesis chapter 19, we find the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. This story is told by every Sunday School teacher in the world. But let's look at Sodom's crime or transgression against God. What did they do to anger God so much?

Sodom, a town evidently good for farming (Genesis 13:10-11), had vegetation and a plains area. It was the land where Lot chose to dwell. Sodom was probably located at he southern end of what is now the Dead Sea.

Was it prosperity and good times that caused Sodom and Gomorrah to sin against God? This may have played a small role, but the Biblical evidence shows that it was their own fleshly lust that caused them to sin. Genesis 19:4- 5, "But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them."

James 1:14-15 says this about sin, "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. "

Lot offered the men of Sodom his very own daughters, Genesis 19:8, but the men of Sodom refused to take Lot's daughters. Romans 1:27 tells us something about men who have fallen into such a wicked and vile state. "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet."

Going To The Dogs

Deuteronomy 23:17-18 reads, "There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God." It is interesting that as Moses wrote these two verses he changed the word sodomite to "DOG" in verse 18. Moses considered a homosexual man no better than a dog. Dogs were thought of as a very low creature, not as "Man's best friend." (1 Samuel 17:43, 2 Samuel 16:9, 2 Kings 8:13)

Even in the New Testament dogs were thought of as very lowly creatures. Philippians 3:2, "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision." 2 Peter 2:22 "But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

Isaiah says this about dogs, "Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter." (Isaiah 56:11)

Dogs In America

It is very evident that the dog catchers in America (The Christians) have their work cut out for them. In the last few years the "DOGS" have come out of the closet or the dog pound or whatever you want to call it. The "DOGS" are loose in America and there is no "LEASH LAW." These "DOGS" can run up and down the streets doing whatever they want, wherever they want, and claim that they have "their rights" to do so.

Results Of Being A Dog

Romans 1:28 teaches us that the "DOGS" did not like to retain God in their knowledge, therefore God gave them over to a reprobate mind. Thus they did all things that they desired to do.

What is the outcome of this type of lifestyle? Romans 1:29-31 explains what will happen to those who do not retain God in their knowledge. "Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:"

If you decide to run with the "DOGS" just remember that you are going down a road that has only one end and that, brethren, is a "DEAD" end!

Sodom vs. America

In Genesis 18:23-32 we find Abraham trying to "jew" God. God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and Abraham wanted God to spare the cities. Finally God told Abraham that if he could find ten righteous people in the cities that He would not destroy them. When Abraham could not find even ten righteous people in these two cities, God did as He said He would and destroyed them.

Sodom was a city that had plenty, America is a land that has plenty. The people of Sodom turned from God, the people of America are turning from God. God gave them up unto vile affections, God will give us up unto vile affections if we continue. The people of Sodom turned to homosexuality, the people of America are turning to homosexuality. Lastly, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, God will give us over to a reprobate mind if we continue. After being turned over to a reprobate mind, the people of Sodom did anything that they wanted to. Read again Isaiah 56:11 "Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter."

Bethren, if America continues to turn from God, He will turn us over to a reprobate mind, then it will be just like Sodom and Gomorrah, anything will go.

Revelation 22:15 says, "For without are 'DOGS'..." the homosexuals are turning America from God. If God turns from America, LOOK OUT, because America will "GO TO THE DOGS."
