Our country is being swept by a fever that can only be described as "GAY MANIA!" The push is on, and the cry covers our nation, to grant "gay rights." Homosexuals have the powerful support of the media and the left-wing, liberal social planners in government. Homosexuality is being shoved down the throats of Americans regardless of moral, health, and societal ramifications. In the mad rush to explore, experience, and legitimize whatever is perverted, ludicrous, destructive, or taboo; the ungodly may have finally brought our nation to the point of no return. Today we are reaping the destructive harvest of the sexual revolution of past decades. Sex has become an all-pervasive god, worshipped and pursued by every facet of society from the arts, to advertising, in the media and even in business. A society immersed in sex ultimately spirals down in a vortex of lust, decadence, and self-destruction. The insatiable quest for a greater "thrill" trashes ethics and self-control, destroys the will and self-esteem of a nation, and leaves in its wake an effeminate people incapable of decisive, moral action. This same effeminacy infests today's church as well. Instead of exposing and opposing sin, American churches look for ways to justify, rationalize, and excuse moral depravity. Gay Mania ignores Truth and the facts about homosexuality. The Gay Maniac's infatuation with the despicable blinds them to reality. Meaningful debate of Bible based ethics and their implications for society are shouted down in a childish tirade of name calling by leveling such charges as "bigotry," "Homophobia," or "gay bashing." Grow up, Gay Maniacs! America's continuing obsession with unleashed sex (anytime, anywhere, any way, with anyone, but without responsibility) has caused the current plague of venereal disease, the wanton slaughter of unwanted babies, AIDS, and human misery that escalates day by day. The solution, as always, lies in a return to the Bible pattern of morality and God's plan for the family.

Gay Maniacs have gone to absurd length in their abortive attempts to escape the clear Biblical condemnation of their perversion. Let's review some Bible facts that stand in solid opposition to the sin of homosexuality.

God created man and woman to form the first family. Male and female he created them by purpose and design. Even an extremely elementary knowledge of human physiology enables anyone not blinded by Gay Mania to readily see how perfectly man and woman were created to fit and function together. Physical characteristics, stimuli, and emotional needs are unique creations of God that function harmoniously to produce love, pleasure, and offspring. These facts of creation are as "plain as the nose on your face!" The ludicrous attempts of homosexuals to create pseudo-families through adoption of children, so-called homosexual "marriages," and claims of homosexual monogamy are pathetically disgusting. Desperation methods of sex-change self-mutilation, and sexual devices are patently ridiculous attempts to copy what God created and really intended for man and woman. Gay Mania enters the fray touting the transparent facade of "homosexual union" and "homosexual families" that are merely cheap imitations of God's creation. Gay Mania ignores creation!

In Sodom and Gomorrah, God had a real problem with the homosexual conduct of these evil "twin cities." Genesis 18:20 records, "...and their sin is exceedingly grave." The sin of which they were guilty can readily be discerned by the conduct of the men of Sodom. They really "acted up" as they clamored for Lot to turn over his male guests so they could have sex with them (see Genesis 19:4,5). Lot warned them that their intentions were wicked in Genesis 19:7. Driven by their abnormal craze for new "thrills" with new "partners" these men refused Lot's daughters and demanded the men instead to satisfy their lust driven passion. The men of Sodom even threatened Lot with worse treatment than his male guests would receive unless he gave in to their demands (Genesis 19:9).

Studies by the American Psychological Association in 1984 found that the average homosexual had 50 different partners a year. A 1978 study (before Gay Mania reached today's fevered pitch) found that 43% of white male homosexuals estimated they had 500 different partners (see footnote 1). Such wanton conduct destroys the fabric of society as well as the family. This insatiable, addictive quest for a novel, or greater sexual thrill is characteristic of the self-destructive behavior that is rampant in decadent, self-indulgent societies. History has repeatedly shown that when society abandons the order and the restraint that comes from Bible based morality and the resulting heterosexual, nuclear families, collapse is not far behind. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the wickedness that is an inherent part of homosexuality. Though Gay Maniacs trot out some exceptions in vain attempts to simulate some vestige of normalcy, we must pay attention to the facts and reject the biased propaganda from Gay Maniacs. Homosexual conduct is physically abnormal, emotionally destructive, and sterile. But Gay Mania refuses to face the Truth.

Homosexuality is not an isolated, private, victimless crime. Attitudes that practice or support homosexuality result in personal and national defilement. Leviticus 18:22,24 clearly points out that God's judgment comes against nations and individuals who embrace this abominable conduct (see also v. 25-30). Homosexuality is classed with the perversion of bestiality and the destructive sex sin of adultery. C.C. Crawford says homosexuality and other solitary sex acts "...evidence a degradation of human character in engendering increase of concupiscence," "vitiates the will," and tend to "sexual excesses destructive of physical, intellectual, and moral life" (see footnote 2). In other words, homosexuality drags down a person who participates and a nation that embraces this and other perverse behavior. Homosexuality revels in unbridled lust and encourages promiscuity. When this type of conduct is encouraged, supported, and defended by government any nation will have a moral crisis and eventually fall. The deterioration of society results from a national unwillingness to seize the high moral ground and occupy a position of decisiveness in regard to clear cut ethical standards.

The indulgences and excesses of Roman society have been well documented by various authors. What was one of the great societies of history was doomed when leaders such as Tiberius, Caligula, and Nero either practiced or condoned homosexuality. Their conduct and legislative decisions laid the foundation for the decline and eventual fall of that society.

The World League of Sexual Reform (1921-1935) grew out of Berlin's Scientific-Humanitarian Committee (1897). These groups held congresses, produced pro-homosexual propaganda, held rallies, and lobbied for legal reforms concerning homosexual "rights" throughout Germany and parts of Europe. Germany fell in 1946 (see footnote 3).

In 1914, the British Society for the Study of Sex Psychology was founded to "educate and promote" homosexuality in England. Subsequently, the end of World War I saw the beginning of the accelerating decline of the vast British Empire until by 1980 Britain was a mere shadow of her former power and influence (see footnote 4).

America's plunge into the morass of Gay Mania began with a homosexual riot June 28, 1969 at a "Gay" bar in Greenwich Village. This event gave birth to the American militant homosexual movement (see footnote 5). Growth of "gay rights" groups in the 70's and 80's have brought us to the position of having the media, art, and much of government dominated by the minority interests of homosexuals. The June 28 riot is commemorated each year by "Gay Pride Week." Since America's indulgence of this sinful, perverted life-style is now so widespread; how much time does America have left? Can the situation be corrected by national repentance and re-implementation of the Bible's moral codes, or have we already passed the point of no return? Have Gay Maniacs signed America's death warrant?

Despite the mindless claims to the contrary from Gay Maniacs, the New Testament unambiguously opposes and condemns the sin of homosexuality. Romans 1:26,27 labels homosexuality as "unnatural and indecent." 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 flatly states that homosexuals will not enter heaven. 1 Timothy 1:9,10 call's homosexuality "lawless, rebellious, and contrary to sound teaching."

To escape these clear teachings of the Bible, Gay Maniacs usually try to avoid the force and implications of these Scriptures by asserting that homosexuals were "born that way." Thus equating homosexual conduct with being born blond, black, or left-handed. But what God considers sin is always either conduct or thinking. One does not sin by being born in a brothel, but one does sin by participating in prostitution. Homosexuals commit their indecent acts because they choose of their own free will to participate in homosexual activities. Even Gay Mania's favorite term "sexual preference" indicated choice, not compulsion!

Grasping at straws to rationalize their perverted behavior has resulted in Gay Maniacs trumpeting research that allegedly indicates a physical cause for homosexuality. Now we know that this pseudo research was slanted and flawed. The researcher who found enlarged hypothalamus nerve clusters in homosexual cadavers, Simon LeVay, is a professed homosexual (see footnote 6). 1991 research linking homosexuality in twins to a genetic source was conducted by three people clearly sympathetic to Gay Mania (two were homosexuals, the other a strong advocate of "gay rights") (see footnote 7).

In contrast, Masters and Johnson have this to say about homosexuality, "When dealing with problems of sexual preference, it is vital that all health-care professionals bear in mind that the homosexual man or woman is basically a man or woman by genetic determination and is homosexually oriented by learned preference" (see footnote 8).

Lawrence J. Hatterer has written, "All societies consider homosexuality deviant." Currently there is no scientific proof that homosexuality is caused by inborn constitutional, genetic, or hormonal factors. The suggestions of some recent investigators that there may be hormonal differences between homosexuals and most heterosexuals have yet to be validated. On the other hand, there is a growing body of scientific literature that documents the multiple causes of the varieties of homosexual phenomena. The consensus of this work is that all forms of homosexuality, whether deemed "normal" or "deviant" by the culture, are learned and are determined by multiple factors in each society in which they occur. The major causes of persistent homosexuality are to be found in disturbed family and peer relationships, particularly when they occur during crucial periods of a young person's psychosexual development. There is growing agreement by researchers as to the ways in which homosexuality becomes fixated.

Once historical factors make a person vulnerable, he or she is then exposed to homosexual conditioning by consistently being absorbed or obsessed with homoerotic fantasy, feeling, and perhaps overt contact with other homosexuals. If the person lives in homosexual milieus or uses homoerotic media for stimulation, reinforcement of this conditioning occurs" (see footnote 9).

Clearly, the assertion by Gay Maniacs that homosexuality has a physical cause is groundless! The Bible as well as medical and psychological evidence permits no escape for the homosexual from his personal responsibility for his own sinful homosexual acts and desires.

Gay Mania has cursed our country. The contributions of homosexuals to our society are well documented:

1) Homosexuals gave America AIDS. Even the U.S. Surgeon General blandly admitted that "The male homosexual population was the first in this country to feel the effects of the disease" (see footnote 10).

2) We now have an unsafe blood supply. Many innocent people are forced to play "Aids roulette" when they receive a blood transfusion.

3) Health care worker's lives are in jeopardy because of the immoral life-style of only 2% of the population.

4) A perfectly good word "gay" has been ruined by the perverted connotation now attached to it.

5) Perverted, destructive sex acts are displayed as art.

6) Research dollars are disproportionately diverted from serious national health problems to placate a special interest group with a self-inflicted illness.

The contributions of homosexuality to today's society have brought only death, destruction, heartache and filth. Who needs Gay Mania? America certainly does not. Yet, we are being subjected to a calculated, deliberate campaign by homosexual advocacy groups who control and coerce the government and the media, to cover up the facts, subvert the truth, and muddy the waters. News stories, TV programs, radio news consistently portrays homosexuals as "victims" who deserve tolerance, compassion, and special privileges. When will America wake up to this carefully crafted policy of brainwashing? Who will expose the havoc Gay Mania has wrought in America? Where are the men and women who will provide courageous moral leadership to bring America back to God's proven ethical standards?

Gay Maniacs are out to destroy this country. America was built by families. These families were men, women, and children who wrestled with life because they held tight to a dream of a noble reason for man to exist. Their quest was not for a fleeting sexual "thrill." They held the sense of "Manifest Destiny" and greatness because they believed in God and eternal reward. So they shouldered the responsibility and built homes based on heterosexual commitment and faithfulness. They raised children with love, considering them a blessing from God, and imbued them with a clear sense of right and wrong based on Bible ethics. They fought fair and square, they helped those in need-even enemies, a man's word was his bond, and they accepted the consequences of their actions and decisions. Husbands fought, struggled and built for wives and children. Women made homes the sanctuary away from the world for their husbands and children. What they produced was the greatest, most generous and unselfish nation the world has ever known. But at some point in history those qualities were devalued and lost. Was it the horrible destruction of modern warfare in World Wars, the materialism brought on by post-war prosperity, or the incredible selfishness of the 60's and 70's that eroded America's Bible based values? In their place materialism, greed, extreme selfishness, and the ridicule of Biblical standards reigned supreme.

Here in middle America. Here in the real America those qualities are still alive and have not yet been snuffed out. Heterosexual, nuclear families are still the foundation of society and the ultimate way needs of men, women, and children can be satisfied. The battle over "gay rights" is more than just the quest of a small, special interest group for a few legal rights. This struggle represents the conflict of ethical standards versus immorality, decency versus perversion, ,moral absolutes versus licentiousness, in short, good versus evil. Gay Mania must not be allowed to prevail.
